 CTN & EFC Announcement

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) is a national association of evangelical Christians that exists to bring Christians together for greater impact in mission, ministry and witness. The EFC was founded in 1964 as a means of encouraging cooperative action. More than 140 denominations, ministry organizations and educational institutions are EFC affiliates, as well as 1,000 local church congregations. The EFC also has more than 15,000 supporting individuals. The EFC is an alliance of more than 2 million Canadian Christians vitally linked for Kingdom purposes.

"As chair of the EFC Global Mission Roundtable I am delighted to affirm the GMR's ongoing relationship with the Canadian Tentmaking Network. We are pleased that Ari Rocklin will give leadership to the GMR Tentmaking Track in conjunction with his role at CTN.  In its capacity as a hub for collaborative initiatives, the GMR recognizes the autonomous nature of CTN and is content to partner together in order to work towards significant strategic partnerships in Canada and around the world."  Working your way to the nations

Lewis, Jonathan.
A Study Guide - Working Your Way to the Nations:
A Guide to Effective Tentmaking
InterVarsity Press, 1997
LIBRARY MISSIONS

Tentmaking is a subject of strategic importance to world evangelization. The concept is biblical, historical precedents abound, and today’s missionary context demands it. This book will fill a gap in the area since it provides a set of essays on effective tentmaking by experienced and knowledgeable missions specialists from around the world. Its concerns are practical but what makes this book doubly useful is the fact that it is designed as a study text either for individual or group use.
Anyone contemplating the tentmaking role would be well advised to check out this book. Edited by Jonathan Lewis, Wm Carey Library, 1993, 193pp (Source: Mission Books)

"An estimated 200,000 evangelicals in Canada will take early retirement before 2010. This is the healthiest and best-educated generation of evangelical early retirees in history, and presents great potential for Christian ministries as they use their giftedness for God's kingdom purposes."
